How to Resolve a Temporary Lock
Wait 24 hours without attempting to log in. Every failed login attempt during the lock period can reset the 24-hour timer or escalate to a permanent lock.
After 24 hours, try the password reset. Go to accounts.snapchat.com and request a password reset via your email or phone. This sometimes clears the lock.
Unlink any third-party Snapchat apps. If you used third-party apps (Snapchat viewer apps, story savers, bot services), these often trigger security locks. Remove them via accounts.snapchat.com → Connected Apps.
Contact Snap Support if the lock persists after 48 hours. support.snapchat.com → "My account is locked." Include your username and when the lock started.
