What's different about Mavic 3 recovery vs other DJI drones?

Three things. First, the bitrate — 5.1K H.265 at 200 Mbps from the Hasselblad sensor is unforgiving on slow cards (you need V60 minimum, V90 ideal). Second, the Mavic 3 Pro Cine writes Apple ProRes 422 HQ which has a different container structure than H.265 .MP4 — different recovery technique. Third, the M3 Cine has internal 1TB storage which can also fail and isn't card-recoverable without a teardown.

My Mavic 3 says 'video repair required' — what now?

Accepted Answer

Decline the in-camera repair. Power off the drone. Pull the card. The camera's auto-repair routinely makes the file worse. AerialRestore handles the same repair externally without touching the original.

Can you recover from the Mavic 3 Cine's internal 1TB SSD?

Accepted Answer

Card recovery, yes — the CFexpress slot is standard. Internal SSD recovery requires partial drone disassembly, which we don't recommend doing yourself. If you must, the SSD speaks NVMe and any NVMe-to-USB adapter will work.

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mavic 3 Pro records to three lenses (Hasselblad 4/3 + 70mm + 166mm). All three streams are recovered as separate H.265 .MP4 files with their original lens identifier in the filename.

What about D-Log M color profile?

D-Log M is metadata baked into the H.265 stream — recovery is identical to standard H.265. The recovered file opens in Resolve / Premiere with D-Log M intact.
