Why does DJI footage corrupt so often?

Accepted Answer

Two reasons. First, DJI cameras don't write the .MP4 moov atom until you stop recording — so any unexpected power-off (low battery, RTH abort, force land, crash) leaves an unfinished container. Second, microSD cards aren't all rated for sustained 4K H.265 — a slow card can drop frames or fail mid-write. AerialRestore handles both.

Will recovery work on encrypted DJI cards (Mavic 3 Enterprise)?

Accepted Answer

Yes for the .MP4 / .MOV / R-JPEG payload. The Mavic 3 Enterprise can encrypt cards with AES-256 — if you set a password we need it to mount the card. If you didn't set one (the default), recovery proceeds normally.

Can you recover the .DAT flight logs?

Accepted Answer

We recover the .DAT files themselves (encrypted by DJI) so you can run them through DJI Assistant 2 or DatCon. We don't decrypt them — that's a separate tool — but the file recovery itself works.

Question 4

What about D-Log and D-Log M?

D-Log is just a color profile baked into the H.265 stream — it doesn't affect recovery. D-Log M files recover identically to standard H.265 .MP4.

Will it work with DJI's RC Pro / DJI Goggles cache?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The RC Pro and Goggles 2/3 cache low-bitrate proxy clips internally. If you've lost those, we recover them via USB-C to the controller.
